The global marine lighting market is undergoing a profound transformation, shifting from traditional lighting to intelligent, interconnected LED systems. Industry forecasts indicate that LED technology has steadily replaced halogen lamps as the dominant light source, with next-generation technologies such as high‑efficiency gallium nitride (GaN) LEDs and UV‑based disinfection LEDs gaining rapid adoption. The marine‑grade floodlight market is projected to reach US$529 million by 2032.

“Decarbonization” has become a core driving force. Two new seabed rock‑placement vessels currently under construction by the Dutch marine contractor Van Oord are equipped throughout with Glamox’s energy‑efficient LED lighting solutions, totaling 2,930 luminaires per vessel. Featuring a multi‑fuel engine capable of running on biofuels and methanol, a DC power grid supported by a large battery bank, and an energy‑saving hull design, these ships integrate lighting efficiency into their broader decarbonization strategy.

Meanwhile, smart lighting control is emerging as a new trend. MetroMarine Lighting recently launched the MM-CC-V1 control center and its accompanying mobile app, which support 256 independent full-spectrum luminaires, 15 programmable preset scenes, and seamless integration with Garmin OneHelm™ and NMEA 2000 systems, enabling centralized management of zone-based control, energy efficiency optimization, and real-time status monitoring.

Industry research indicates that marine lighting will evolve along four key trends—intelligence, green technology, high-end innovation, and domestic production—driving a sustained increase in product value.
